Welcome to La Grange

La Grange is nestled along the Colorado River and features history, beauty, festivals, museums, concerts, antiques, air shows, feasts, and an annual county country fair.   Spend a day, a week, or a lifetime in Fayette County and enjoy La Grange, Texas.

The streets of La Grange were laid out several years before the organization of Fayette County in 1837.  First populated by Austin's colonists - "The Original Three Hundred", then followed by German immigrants in the 1840's and Czech and Moravians in the 1850's, the cultures of these pioneers are evident today and have been proudly passed through generations.

WATER CONSERVATION

As everyone is aware, we are currently experiencing a dry period that is normal for this time of year. Normally our production capacity is 1,600,000 per day. The triggering criteria for mild drought conditions according to our Drought Contingency plan is 90% of our production capacity or 1,440,000 gallons per day. We currently have one well that is out of service and will be down for some time. Our daily water usage for the past seven days has been 934,714 gallons per day. With one well out of service we can only produce 1,250,000 gallons per day. The triggering criteria for mandatory water conservation are 90% of our production capacity or 1,125,000 gallons per day. We are asking all La Grange Utility water customers to look for ways to voluntarily reduce their water use. Press Release

The City of La Grange would like to take this opportunity to remind our customers that Republic Services will be servicing the  96 gallon recycling carts with the green lids the week of August 1, 2016.
