City Hall
For commercial properties,
La Grange Utilities will not activate service until the City has conducted an
inspection and released the property. Contact the Planning and Building
Department at (979) 968-5805 to arrange for a commercial inspection. The City
will notify the Utilities Department in writing and provide the applicant a
copy.
Electrical Permit
All electrical work requires an electrical permit from the City. Permits are
issued to homestead owners who are going to do the work themselves, or to a
bonded licensed electrical contractor. Electrical licenses are issued by the
City.

Electrical Board
The Electrical Board is created as required by the Electrical Code. Members
are appointed by the City Council. The Board is charged with responsibility
for hearing appeals to the Electrical Code and recommending revisions.
Meetings are held on an
as-needed basis. Expression of interest in serving on the Board may be made
in writing to the City Manager.
