  • Facilities: Facilities include picnic sites; the historical monument and tomb; Kreische house, smokehouse, and barn; interpretive exhibits; a bluff overlook; a playground; restrooms without showers; and a 10' X 20' tent which can be rented for receptions or meetings. Be sure to visit the Texas State Park Store at the park headquarters for items unique to the park and relating to the state of Texas. Prices are reasonable, and the merchandise is all quality

  • Activities: The activities at this park include picnicking, nature study, and historical study. Arrangements can be made with the park staff to have weddings, family reunions, or other group functions that may use the picnic area and/or the historical facilities. Group tours by staff and volunteer docents are available with advanced scheduling, and regularly scheduled tours of the brewery are available on the weekends.

Map - White Rock Park

This day-use park, covering 23.5 acres, is one of the largest on the lower Colorado. White Rock Park, developed by the LCRA and operated by the City of LaGrange, (979) 968-5805, can be found on the left approximately one mile downstream of the U.S. 77 bridge in LaGrange. Facilities include a canoe launch area, baseball fields, a playground, sand volleyball, picnic areas, restrooms, 1 mile walking trail, (2) 5-station exercise stations, soccer fields, paved area parking and a fishing pier.

DISC GOLF COURSE at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.

            The City of La Grange is proud to announce the opening of a 9-Hole Disc Golf Course at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.  The course is located on the northern section of the property ~ plays a loop from west/north of the softball fields parking area for Tee 1 and returns to the same general area on the south side of Veterans Drive for Hole 9.The course ranges in holes from 300 foot to 495 foot in distance – totaling

Plum Park on the Colorado offers canoeists a great place to put in on the River between Smithville and La Grange. Campers arriving by river can camp overnight as can those who obtain permits. The park's gates close at sundown.

Overnight camping allowed for river traffic only or by permit. For permit information, call 1-800-776-5272, Ext. 3366.

Reservations: None required.

How to get there: From La Grange, take Highway 71 West for about eight miles and turn right on Prairie Valley Road (County Road 448). Travel approximately two miles to the site entrance.
