The City of La Grange
Randolph Recreation Center is located at 653
East Pearl Street in La Grange, Texas.
They gymnasium - home of the present
Randolph Recreation Center - was built in
1948, and was a portion of the former black
school prior to integration in the
mid-sixties. The gym area was used
sparingly by the La Grange School district
until the City acquired the building and
completed renovations in 2004. The
City, along with partnerships, funding by
various donors, volunteers, and Texas Parks
and Wildlife grant funds returned a
historically significant structure to the
citizens of La Grange for future usage for
all ages.
